The O'thentique rattan laundry basket is made using a byproduct of the bamboo harvested to make O'thentique's recycled eggshell bowls and tea light holders. The bamboo leaves are used to weave high quality rattan baskets. This high quality rattan laundry basket is: 40 x 56cm. Renewable resources - O'thentique use only renewable resources and recycled materials such as eggshells and bamboo. Bamboo is very a fast growing material that quickly replenishes itself. Bamboo grows twice as fast as the average tree and releases 30% more oxygen into the atmosphere. Cultural sustainability - O'thentique have two workshops in Vietnam which are part of a co-operative group who are paid fairly and equally. O'thentique production is small where artisans are looked after and paid well. Traditional techniques - The bamboo is split into long strips, which is then spun by hand to make bowls, platters and vases. This then undertakes the lacquer process or is painted. The leaves are then used to weave baskets, such as this rattan laundry basket.

The original Hedgehog House is constructed from durable timber with double layered roof for waterproofing and insulation and an oak floor. The entrance tunnel provides protection from domestic cats and dogs, foxes and badgers. There is a hinged inspection door at the back for annual cleaning and inspection of sick or rescued hedgehogs. The house comes complete with vent pipe and instructions. This is produced by Wildlife World who are manufacturers and designers of unique products for wildlife (wild birds, mammals and insects) based in the heart of the English Countryside. Their products are mainly made from sustainable natural materials which add attractive features as well as valuable habitat to a garden. Wildlife World use 100% FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) wood supply for all their components other than waste wood. Any paints or stains used are water based which is good news for the inhabitants!
