Should You Replace Your Windows All at Once?

Homeowners can choose to have their windows replaced one at a time, but replacing all windows at once offers certain benefits. In today’s post, Going Green Concepts LLC weighs these benefits.

Why Are You Replacing Your Windows?

First, there’s the matter of why you’re having your windows replaced in the first place. One of the most common reasons why homeowners get new windows is because of damage — perhaps due to a large piece of airborne debris, hailstone or a stray baseball. Or perhaps spreading window replacements across multiple installments makes better financial sense.

That’s the best part of window replacement: it’s entirely flexible compared to other exterior home improvements. Not only can you spread it across different installation appointments, but it can also be done during virtually any time of the year, even in the middle of the winter season.

The Benefits of Replacing All Windows at Once

As we have touched on above, having all windows replaced at once offers some benefits over single window replacement.

  • Uniform look. While it is entirely possible to get new windows that closely match your existing ones, it’s never going to be the exact same ones. This can be an issue if you’re getting new windows for curb-facing windows, as even slight variations in hue, hardware and frame thickness can be noticeable for some people.

  • Energy savings. There’s also the matter of the overall window performance, in relation to the entire house. If you’re gradually switching to energy-efficient windows, the energy savings won’t be as dramatic compared to getting new energy-efficient windows all at once.

  • Consistent comfort. One reason why homeowners get new windows is to address heat leaks in certain areas, which usually results in hot spots and drafts. Addressing individual spots mean you’ll have to live with others for some time, whereas addressing them all at once can help ensure consistency throughout the house.

  • Cost savings. It may sound counterintuitive, but the long-term cost of a whole-house window replacement can cost less. Not just because of potential discounts, but because the labor costs for separate installation appointments can add up. There’s also the changing market costs for individual replacement units, which means even a replacement window with the same precise specifications can be more expensive when purchased months down the line.

If upfront costs are preventing you from enjoying the benefits described above, we at Going Green Concepts LLC offer flexible, tailored financing options that will work with your budget. Give us a call at (682) 209-1449, or fill out our contact form to learn more.
